Marketing Actor or Marketing Theorist?
So after all I wrote yesterday someone might ask me - so what's your plan exactly?
Well it goes back to what Harold Klemp once said: "look no further than within arms reach".
Do what you do well today. As opposed to always looking for something better.
Here's my ideal set of business/internet circumstances:
- I work on my own from my computer
- I make good money
- I am able to work from anywhere in the world
- I get the opportunity to learn a lot, and I don't necessarily always have to do something practical with the knowledge... perhaps I might just repackage the knowledge and sell it to others who are trying to learn
- I do a moderate amount of writing - moderate and not too heavy.
Give me that and I'd be happy.
The only stumbling block I see is that second to last point - the practical bit. I like learning... nah I LOVE learning. But the problem is, in order to make money you have to actually DO something practical to make money from what you learnt.
Its all very well knowing how to develop a meta-site that gets you a 1000 visitors from google in 2 months, the problem then is that you then have to apply it - build 30 sites to get the project rolling.
The thing is, for some reason I enjoy reading about doing super stuff, much more than I actually enjoy doing it.
Don't know exactly what I can do about that. I may need to ask my internet mentor.
But maybe I need to give myself a lot more credit than that - I started this blog didn't I?
