Short Ramble: Why does Cash have to spoil Webmastering fun?
Today, I said to Sir Bob:
I changed the main colours on http://www.pacemake.com. CSS is actually a bit of a killer but I think I've cracked in now. All colours, borders and fonts on pacemake are done entirely through CSS which is certainly not my choice.
Sir Bob responded:
"I've just had a brief look at pacemake.com. Finding the time to do all that research and then implement it must be difficult. Daily I get to work at 7 am, study a mixture of VBscript and QTP for 2 hours then start paid work at 9. It's something but hardly enough. I reminisce about the WinRunner era when entire days and weeks were scrupulously devoted to learning the craft. I hardly cared that I barely owned a nickel or a dime. That's was probably a foretaste of life in eternity; working at something I loved without a care for my current account at Barclays."
I said:
That's quite profound. I love some aspects of this research I'm doing, which constantly leads to new threads of discovery, and new roads for research. But life demands a balance of scholastic interest with creation of cold hard cash.
I'm highly blessed on the "scholastic interest" side that's for sure. Utopia would be to successfully combine both...
I heard that on the Astral [another world] they don't have this problem and can just work for love alone. Lucky buggers. But that's a thought for another life...
