What are Server Side Includes?

At some point you're hear about Server Side Includes and wonder: "what the heck are those?"

Well SSI will allow you to build your webpage - lets say page A and then "on the fly" add page B into page A whenever a user visits page A.

The question is - why on earth would you want to do that?

Well, I learned that you'd do this with navigation elements especially.

And the design advantage is that if you have navigation on many pages (a 1000 page site for example), you can change navigation on many or all pages of your site by changing just one page.

Aaron Wall a well known SEO wrote a page on SSI on his blog - http://www.seobook.com/archives/000216.shtml. Fortunately he put it together with another related topic - htaccess.

Thanks for the free ebook Aaron (I got it with SEOElite).
