Google Changes Its Adwords Policy
Google has now followed in Overture's footsteps to add a wrinkle to the formula affiliate's use to create cash from ppc ads.
As of last Friday if you wish to advertise your affiliate URL on Google Adwords, you must create a unique page of your own to receive traffic from the ad.
In short, Google has added an extra step to the "GoogleCash" recipe that creates income for hundreds of affiliates.
If you've read Chris Gibson's Google Cash you'll know that he makes $80,000+ per year from a simple system:
1. Pick an affiliate product & join the affiliate program
2. Create an Adwords ad
3. Drive Traffic from the ad to your affiliate URL
That's it. Oh - I forgot step 4 "bank the cheques". Of course, its not quite that simple - finding low-cost keywords and writing those little Google ads is a discipline in itself - but this is how many affiliates have made money over the last 2 years.
Now these affiliates must take the extra step of creating a unique landing page for the each ad words ad.
One Search Meister doesn't know if this is good or bad. And I have to say I don't know either. It could potentially reduce competition and bid prices for Adwords. And it could drive a good percentage of affiliates away from Google Adwords. Shame.
