How To Safely Edit Your Website from Anywhere
I finally found an ideal web editing solution. I need to do many tasks on my websites and if you're like me you like to work on move. No point bundling together all your activities into one 2 hour session at home in the evening.
I particularly was looking for a way to edit my websites from a browser just like I'm doing now for this blog.
I looked at the web-based-editing solutions like NextEdit and WebEdit but they didn't seem to do what I wanted and the cost was too much.
Finally I understood that all I really needed was web-based FTP software, if such a thing existed.
And it does! A company called myWebFTP has a script application that sits on your webserver and lets you control your websites from anywhere. You start the application up from any internet connected computer and it sits in your browser just like the FTP software on your PC.
You can use it to do all the usual tasks like creating directories, deleting files, doing CHMOD etc.
Another great thing is that it has a site manager that lists the addresses of all your sites in one place. The site manager can also hold all your password details securely.
I can't wait to install this software tonight and test it thoroughly.
Check it out at now at myWebFTP.com.
