Powerlinks anyone?
I noticed that Brad Fallon recently interviewed John Cota of Powerlinks in an seoradio.com interview.
Powerlinks seems a great way to get hundreds of incoming links immediately but the product may have a very bad flaw.
From what I can tell you can only exchange links with a Powerlinks user if you yourself become a user of the product. I've been to a Powerlink user's site and clicked on his Exchange Links link - I got taken to a Powerlinks purchase page. Hmmm.
In this case you can have a situation where every Powerlinks user is linked to every other Powerlinks user, in a sort of inter-meshed mini-network which Google and the other Engines frown very much upon.
Someone recently described Google as an 800 pound gorilla. You want try to avoid attracting its (hostile) attention. And one basic rule for doing that is "Don't travel in Packs".
I'd be interested to see if Brad asked John any hard questions in that interview.
