Day 2 of my Ping Test
OK, yesterday I pinged about 17 different places including Yahoo which was 10 days behind indexing my posts.
Something like 6 of those pings failed which wasn't great. But that left about 11 new places I'd successfully pinged, including Pingomatic which then goes off and pings several more!
Today I checked Yahoo and they have still not indexed my recent posts.
But Google, yes, Google has crawled my site and indexed my second to last post.
I haven't done any linking in the last few days to prompt this rapid indexing so it was either the pinging, or else they found the posts through a regular crawl.
But then again Google is pretty good and indexing my site already - its Yahoo I'm after.
I'm a bit disappointed that my "single massive ping" wasn't enough to summon Yahoo, but I shall persevere: This post will ping the same long list of places as yesterday.
Fingers crossed for some Yahoo action.
