MSN Search launches with Unique Information Tool
I just looked at the Search Whiz's blog and saw a link to a very interesting article on the MSN search engine launch. The article was from the Seattle Post and talked about how Bill plans a massive amount of advertising in coming months.
That's all well and good - but here's what I think is most interesting about MSN search.
It seems they are going to provide Encarta results for certain searches. OK. So what's the big deal? Well each Encarta Search link will link to Free information from their Encarta product which I believe retails for about $12.95. It is a fully featured Encyclopedia.
So if I wanted to learn more about soap making as a wild example, I could go over to MSN, type in a related search and see entries from a real-life Encylopedia.
I did that just now and got some great content for a future soap-related article I'm planning.
I've been looking for this kind of credible-source-information for a while.
If MS keep the encyclopedia I'll be using their engine often - whenever I need to write an article. In certain ways, this could be the best place online to find certain information. Wouldn't you agree?
Anyway, I hope things go well with the new MSN online venture. Maybe this will be another place to practice my taught Search Engine expertise.
