A spammer from doobu.com

The point of this post is to show how easy it is to defeat comment spammers using MT blacklist.

I've not had ANY comment spam in the last 7 days since using MT blacklist but today one got through. How?

This particular fellow was from doobu.com. He got around my MT blacklist by using gibberish text in his message, around which he included loads of URLs to his site. Guess what those URLs had in common?

They were all from doobu.com.

So I can easily block ALL of his future comment spam by entering "doobu.com" in the list of MT blacklist strings. The spammer will have to get a different URL to re-post. And we'll ban that as well.

Goodbye spammer, you won't be able to post again on this site or on any other MT-blacklist-enabled blog on the web.
