Revising my earlier (high) opinion of FlashFXP

A few posts ago I wrote about how I hoped Flash FXP would solve my FTP problems by letting me write scripts to upload automatically.

After trying the software I have now revised my opinion. The parts of the software that have to do with automated uploading are pretty much undocumented. The entire advanced part of the software is virtually unusable, because the guys were too lazy to write the complete manual.

They don't tell you this before you buy the product either.

Flash FXP is still a great program for basic FTPing masses of files without having the program halt on you.

However if you have to upload tedious batches of files on a regular basis, and are planning to use scripts to do this automatically then Flash FXP is not for you.

I wrote to them on their forum asking hey what this "queue file" stuff all about? Their lame answer was "Err, thanks for the comment - we will stick the info in the next release"

For now I am suggesting RoboFTP for advanced scripting although I will need to test it before recommending it positively. Until then.
